From Jamesport to Orient the summer is quieter, more relaxing and authentic residents say. Summer on Long Island most frequently is accompanied by Vineyards, fun, beaches — and crowds. The latter is especially true if your travels take you to the Hamptons, where the population triples in popular destinations like Montauk and Shelter Island.
