Astoria/LIC may have lost the Amazon headquarters but they have something to cheer about with the opening of the Hallets Point Development near Astoria Park.   The first of seven buildings which  consists of two towers and 404 units is complete and apartments are now available for rent.

The building which offers luxury amenities—with one tower at 17 stories and the other at 22– offers a fitness center, a children’s playroom, an attended garage as well as two large common terraces with areas for lounging and barbecuing.

At the base of the building will be a 25,000 square-foot grocery store, Brooklyn Harvest Market, which is expected to open in May. The supermarket will be the first to open in the area for years.

While the building is in an isolated area of Astoria, the building owner will be providing a shuttle service to the subway. Additionally, the development is a five-minute walk away from the Astoria ferry stop that opened in 2017.  Studio apartments start at $1,895, one-bedrooms at $2,525 and two-bedrooms at $3,595.

This first tower is proof that the once desolate Hallets Point will be a water front Mecca for New Yorkers in the coming year.
